CHAMBERY
The nearest airport to Méribel is Chambéry.
This is a small airport, served by Snowjet, Flybe and Jet2.



flybe ( www.flybe.com ) from Southampton, Birmingham, Exeter and Norwich. Southampton airport is only an hour from London Waterloo by train and the station is 50 yds from the terminal.

GRENOBLE

Getting from the airport to Méribel

LYON – 185km – motorway all the way to Moutiers.
From Lyon, you have three options:
1. Take a taxi -  we recommend 3 Valley Transfers. You can book at www.3vt.co.uk or I can book one for you.
2. Hire a car (approx 2 – 2˝ hours to Méribel by car).
3. Take a coach (approx 3 – 3˝ hours).  Click on www.altibus.com  for times and prices.

CHAMBERY - 95km – motorway to Moutiers.
From Chambéry you also have three options:
1. Take a taxi - Take a taxi -  we recommend 3 Valley Transfers. You can book at www.3vt.co.uk or I can book one for you.
2. Hire a car (approx 1˝ hours to Méribel by car).
3. Take a coach (approx 2 hours).  Click on www.altibus.com for times and prices.

GRENOBLE - 180km – mostly motorway to Moutiers.
From Grenoble you have three options:
1. Take a taxi - Take a taxi -  we recommend 3 Valley Transfers. You can book at www.3vt.co.uk or I can book one for you.
2. Hire a car (approx 2 hours to Méribel by car).
3. Take a coach (approx 3 hours, including a change at Moutiers).  Click on www.agbus.fr for times and prices of buses from Grenoble to Moutiers.  Then click on www.altibus.com to get from Moutiers up the hill.



GENEVA – 120km. Some motorway, and single lane road around Lac d’Annecy – slow but stunning views, or motorway all the way via a longer route.
From Geneva you have the same three options:
1. Take a taxi - Take a taxi -  we recommend 3 Valley Transfers. You can book at www.3vt.co.uk or I can book one for you. 
2. Hire a car (approx 2 – 2˝ hours to Méribel by car).
3. Take a coach (approx 3 – 3˝ hours). There are usually 7 buses on Saturday and 3 on a Sunday.  A return trip costs 115 euros Click on www.alpski-bus.com  for times and other prices.


BY TRAIN

Eurostar and TGV both serve Moutiers station. Méribel is 20 minutes drive up the valley from Moutiers. You can take a bus www.altibus.com, taxi (www.3vt.co.uk), or hire a car at Moutiers.
The ski train offers 1 overnight and 1 day service a week from London Waterloo to Moutiers, both arriving Saturday in Moutiers. Check with www.eurostar.com. Or you can break the journey in Paris.  Check with Eurostar or TGV – regular daily and overnight services from Paris – check with www.raileurope.co.uk.


BY CAR

Méribel is about 665 miles (1060kms) from London, with motorway all the way from Calais to Moutiers. Be warned that driving during peak French holiday times (eg French half-term) motorways get very busy.
